Clover Field Homes – Chaska

Represented the developer of an affordable rental housing complex containing 117 apartments and 7,000 square feet of commercial space for low-income families in a suburban community.
Major elements of the representation included assistance in claiming low-income housing tax credits and obtaining HUD-insured loans. Seven other subordinate loans were also secured, including a tax increment financing loan.
In addition, litigation was commenced against a local homeowners association to invalidate certain association restrictions purported to be imposed on the project’s development. The development, which houses four formerly homeless families, furthers the region’s goals for creating affordable housing in suburban communities.
